Can you use this on IKEA Omar shelving unit?
How about when you buy and self assemble a cart, and a back wheel falls off? I did that, after two wheels broke and fell off my previous cart.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
😅😅😅
2 things. I would love to see a drill powered level adjuster on these foot pads. Another great feature would be if you could prevent the caster from swiveling. i roll my wood lathe outside and I need 2 fixed wheels on one side and 2 swivel on the side facing me
How do you compress the spring for when you have uneven grounds?
Better off emailing him...or ask your local hardware man
thank you
can tou remove the caster from the wheel? One of mine broke and i removed the part from the chair but the part in the wheel is stuck
to put the wheels when its rly tough, you can put it while its in standing position and have a sit on the chair, your weight will do the job, but to do this you have to be careful.
Dude, you show how to install a Caster that the stem is in. Show me how to install a Caster onto a stem when the stem is already inside the chair. I have a chair where the stem is already in the chair. I need to know how to install a stemless Caster wheel onto a stem. The internet has nothing that will help me. And I'm getting very frustrated and angry about it. I've been looking for months. And I find nothing.
WD-40 did the trick! I’m so excited! Only, I couldn’t put the cover on, it was just too big. Fits without it. WD 40 and a great grandmother with emphysema just did it without a hammer! I love me some WD 40! Yes, I do! Thank you so much for showing how to do it though. The older I get, the more I need a bit of guidance. LOL
I got my wheels, they look just like the ones you have, but they are too big! Oh no!
WD 40 is my friend! 😅
I want something that I can use on asphalt, sidewalk & epoxy floors. The casters I have now make a ton of noise, some from the wheel & some is from play in the bearings etc... What do you have for me???
I would go with a Thermo Rubber Wheel it’s a gray non marking thermo engineered rubber. Doesn’t leave streaks, soft to absorb shock, very quiet, and is great on all of those floor types especially floor protective on epoxy. We have them in all sizes light duty as well as medium/heavy duty. As far as bearings go, there is always going to be some play and movement/noise in a roller bearing, if this is an issue I’d always recommend going with a precision ball bearing which is also an upgrade you can choose on our website when ordering casters, reach out to us at info@casterhq.com or call us at 844-439-4335 and we will help you more.
Thank you . I used your instructions to remove the casters . Fortunately my new ones went in easily
There are a couple of issues here, the most important one bing that the casters put a lot of torque on the endgrain of a quite thin piece of wood. Granted, the total weight of the person sitting is distributed over all four of them but still, in time the legs may split. Also i wonder why you were using a masonry bit to drill wood. 😊
These drill bits were the only ones I had to use at the time of the video 😂 🤦 When threaded T-nuts with prongs come loose or fall off after installing them in furniture like chair legs, there are a few solutions and precautions to take into consideration: ⚫Add Adhesive: For added security, apply a strong wood adhesive or epoxy in the hole before inserting the T-nut. This helps to lock the T-nut in place within the wood. ⚫Use a Screw: Hammer the T-nut into place and then secure it with a small hinge screw in the center of the cross shape to prevent it from backing out or rotating. 🔴We did not use these methods in the video but highly recommend both to ensure the t-nuts stay in place and that you are a happy customer.
Thanks; concise, clear-cut, understandable explanation of the distinction between pneumatic and flat free tires. Trying to convince myself to go with flat free but thanks to your vid pneumatic is my best choice.
Should the spring be compressed before mounting? I have sloping ground. Do I install wheel to touch ground at lowest point and it compresses as it goes uphill? That might lift the gate too much. Do I install wheel at uphill (closed) position with spring adjusted for level gate ?
For mounting a spring-loaded gate caster on sloping ground, it's typically best to install the wheel so that it touches the ground when the gate is in its uphill (closed) position. Adjust the spring tension so that the gate remains level as it moves. This setup helps ensure that the wheel properly supports the gate without lifting it too much as it rolls uphill. Starting with the wheel touching at the uphill position allows the spring to compress appropriately as the gate moves downhill, accommodating the slope while keeping the movement smooth and the gate well supported. This method avoids excessive lifting of the gate, which can occur if the wheel starts at the lowest point and compresses further as it moves uphill.
@@CasterHQ Thanks for this advice. So I'll mount the wheel in the uphill closed position with just enough tension to keep the gate level. With about 4" of grade, the wheel might not touch the ground when fully open. I guess that's okay.

hello sir can you teach how to design caster wheel brackets
Where do i find the link to the type of gate wheel you are using?
Hello, this is the one from our video: www.casterhq.com/Gate-Caster-p/hq4940s-g2-sp.htm
Thanks dude!
bought a set today for my ss table for a 8 burner flame top.
Love it! Hope they work out great for you! Thank you, we really appreciate the business.
Helped a ton. Just bought a Bluepoint cart second hand and the wheels are shot
Hi, i have double wood doors. Each door is 240lbs. I need to find casters that would relieve some weight from the posts and hinges. i want to install the casters lower to increase the support to the doors, by using the spring compression. I guess I am hesitating between medium and heavy duty casters. What would you do?
Hi, I would go with heavy duty for your doors as 240lbs per door is a lot of weight. As far as the wheel material, depending on the type of floor use go with a mold on rubber also known as a rubber on cast iron wheel or a solid poly wheel.
Ecellent video. Thank you very much..
Is there anything just like this that has an adjustable height of 3 inches? I’m wanting to put these on a work table for woodworking that I wheel around the garage for various applications, but 1 would be as an outfeed table to my table saw, jointer, planer etc. the height difference in those 3 tools is about 2.5 inches so I was wondering if there was a product that had that height range capability? Thanks!
So we have different size leveling casters but nothing with an extendable range of 3”. We do have larger sizes that will sit with an increased height and some German made leveling casters that are much more adjustable to specific sizes. Checkout our list of products here, hopefully there is something that suits your needs: www.casterhq.com/Leveling-Casters-s/115.htm
I have been looking at 6" caster wheels. What would be the approximate ground clearance if 4 were attached to a small cart or trailer. I'm guessing that the ground clearance would be at or close to 3 inches. Am I even remotely close to the actual ground clearance? Thanks in advance for any and all advice, opinions, or answers. Regards
can this work with a small 3000 lbs Power Pallet truck as well?
Why use latex gloves? Poser
thanks for the info, very informative!
I just ordered one of these dollies! Thank you for the recommendations! My husband will love this for his shop!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful! :)
for whomever it may concern, if the removal is hard for a caster wheel, try using the head of a hammer for leverage to pull it out and loosen it
WHAT ABOUT THE CASTER WHEEL THAT’S FEATURED IN THE PICTURE BEHIND YOU? THANKS 😊
Any idea how to make these?
Would’ve benefited from a side by side comparison of old vs new. I need a taller chair profile bc my arms are going numb at my desk. And I’d rather not cut down the legs of my desk
Do the pneumatic tires puncture as easily as bike tires? Like say on yard torns like Tribulus terrestris, aka as caltrop, goat's head, sticklers?
Thanks a lot. I found this video to be very helpful. This video helped me remove casters from my chair in just 10 minutes.
video worked, was just about to buy from another website and found this video... thanks
Glad I could help
Actually the rollerblade wheels are the best
Absolutely! Rollerblade wheels are great! Checkout our selection here: www.casterhq.com/Chair-Casters-s/323.htm#
Any time this man says 'affordable' it is clear he means 'cheap'
Cheap compared to same industrial types of over priced casters on the market but still very high quality. :)
@@CasterHQ Maybe. I find it surprising double casters are never mentioned in the video. They are some of the smoothest and easiest-to-use casters out there.
What's the best caster for a chair on office carpet?
Any of these chair casters here with a polyurethane wheel are great on carpet. www.casterhq.com/office-chair-caster-sets-kits-s/3560.htm
@@CasterHQ I love the casters I got for my chair. They are perfect. I'm very impressed with the quality.
Please accept my heartiest thanks for posting such an informative video.
It's my pleasure
